Independent Research

Fifteen positions under coverage, underwritten from primary sources.

Each thesis is built directly from earnings reports and financial statements, then pressure-tested against competitive positioning and industry trends rather than sell-side summary. Coverage is concentrated by design: fifteen names I can defend line by line.

Valuation work reconciles GAAP and non-GAAP earnings, builds blended EPS estimates across forward periods, and benchmarks the result against sector forward P/E to isolate where the market and the filings disagree.

Method

Screen
Filter for durable unit economics, insider alignment and mispriced expectations relative to sector multiples.
Model
Build the thesis from 10-K/10-Q language, segment disclosure and competitive positioning; reconcile GAAP to non-GAAP earnings.
Stress
Test blended EPS estimates against sector forward P/E, margin compression and demand shock cases before sizing.
Revisit
Re-underwrite each name every earnings cycle; exit when the thesis, not the price, breaks.

Profile

Independently, I underwrite fifteen positions from primary filings — 10-Ks, 10-Qs, segment disclosure — building the estimate before I hold an opinion on the stock. That discipline predates any license and isn't tied to any employer; it's how I evaluate a business, full stop.

Professionally, I bring that same rigor to the client relationship. A year at Equitable Advisors doing client-facing capital work: I sourced a 200-name pipeline from scratch, brought in $750K in new client assets, and restructured one book from 2%+ aggregate expenses to approximately 0.5%.

What that year clarified is where I'm most useful: explaining an investment process to the people funding it — mandate, positioning, drawdown behavior, and why the manager did what they did last quarter — communicated precisely, without decoration.

I am targeting investor relations and client solutions seats at asset managers and alternatives platforms in the New York metro area, where research fluency and allocator communication are the same job.

Build the estimate before you hold an opinion.
